NOESIS, 2nd project meeting in Stockholm 22-23 March 2018

The second NOESIS project meeting was held in Stockholm on the 22nd and 23rd of March 2018. All partners gathered to discuss the progress of the running work packages (WP1, WP2, WP6) and to elaborate on the plan for the work packages that are about to begin (WP3, WP4, WP5). The coordinators of the LeMO project also attended the meeting and presented the LeMO project. Opportunities for collaboration between the two projects were discussed.

The second day of the meeting focused on a mini internal workshop on WP2 activities. The brainstorming session focused on finalizing the emerging Transport challenges. After this session the following Transport challenges have been identified and agreed by the consortium:

  • Environment and health
  • Automation
  • Transport management and operation
  • Transport policy and planning
  • Freight and logistics
  • Integration (MaaS)
  • Funding, Financing, Cost efficiency
  • Social / Psychological aspects
  • Data related
  • Quality of service
  • Resilience
  • Maintenance

Sub-problems for each challenges were also identified and will be finalized soon.

The template for gathering big data use cases will be finalized in the next month. We will then begin the use cases gathering in an attempt to build the first collection of Big Data use cases in Transport, the so called: Big Data in Transport Library (BDTL).
