Terms of Use for the Big Data in Transport Library

Article 1

Scope of Application

  1. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to the registration process and any use case you submit. By registering and/or submitting a use case you agree with these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms then you may not use the NOESIS Big Data in Transport Library
  2. By registering and/or submitting a use case no contract will be concluded, but we provide benefits for our use case submitters.
  3. For more information about the NOESIS Big Data in Transport Library, the registration process, and the use case management see the User Manual.

Article 2

Registration process

  1. For invited users predefined usernames and passwords are used. No personal data will be processed.
  2. Registered users (see Exhibit 1) have to provide following data: First name, Last name, Organisation, email address, Position, username, password (the password will be stored encrypted).
  3. (c) Each User login shall only be used by the invited or registered user or by authorized persons of the invited or registered users.

In no event will the NOESIS Consortium be liable for unauthorized use or misuse of your username or password.

NOESIS privacy policy is subject to modification from time to time, and such changes are effective upon posting of the modified policy to the URL provided.

Article 3

Submitting Use Cases

  1. There are two different field types:
    (i) Public data: Information in a Public data field will be available for all visitors (see Exhibit 1).
    (ii) Sensitive data: Information in a Sensitive data field will be hide from public. Only NOESIS Consortium members can view information in a Sensitive data field. All consortium members are committed to secrecy regarding sensitive data (see also Article 4).
  2. By submitting a use case you warrant that you are entitled to provide the information of the use case to us.
  3. We reserve the right to delete use cases, if the rights of a third party have been violated.

Article 4

Types of users

  1. (a) NOESIS consortium members have the right to:
    (i) View all use cases
    (ii) Edit their own use cases
    (iii) Edit the use cases of persons they invited
  2. (b) Invited and registered users (non-consortium members) have the right to:
    (i) View their own use cases
    (ii) Edit their own use cases
    (iii) View all public use cases after the database is made public (see Exhibit 1)
  3. Non-registered users have the right to:
    (i) View all public uses cases after the database is publicly accessible (see Exhibit 1).

Article 6

Separability Clause

In case any individual provisions of the Terms of Use shall be completely or partially invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not in any way be affected or impaired thereby.

Article 7

Right of modification

We may make changes to these Terms of use from time to time. In the case of major changes, we notify you via an e-mail to the email associated with your account. Any further access to and continued use of the NOESIS Big Data in Transport Library after such an amendment shall be deemed as consent to such amended Terms of Use.

Exhibit 1

Database status

The Database is currently closed and only fully accessible by NOESIS consortium members. Non-registered users are not able to access any use cases.


The registration is currently closed. Only NOESIS consortium members and invited users are able to login and submit use cases.
